Recently in a radio interview, Pelicans GM Dell Demps revealed that the Pelicans were interested in purchasing a D-League team.
This wouldn't be a bad investment considering the Pelicans recent Summer League success and Demps ablilty to grab talent. Considering that over half the teams in the NBA have a D-League team, it would only be a matter of time before New Orleans had one anyway.
Most of the time, D-League teams are for bigger teams who are contenders. Now that New Orleans is hoping to contend until Anthony Davis retires and is out of the rebuilding phase, it just makes sense to start one. The top spots for the team to call home right now are Baton Rouge, Shreveport, or Lafayette.
Should the Pelicans do this? If so where should they put the team? Leave comments below on your thoughts
